I have taken the 1 line to Varick Street before, but it is always a difficult walk through Canal Street (Chinatown). Thank you.

  1. It requires a transfer, but if you want to minimize your walking, I'd suggest you do this.

Take a downtown N train at 49th St and Seventh Ave.

At Union Square, transfer to a downtown 6.

Get off at Canal St, which will put you at Canal and Lafayette, just a couple blocks from where you want to be.

  2. My friend, I agree with farfel, the "B" and "D" train is the best way to go. Take either Brooklyn-bound (southbound) train from Rockefeller Center to Grand Street.

    Good luck

  3. B or D express train from Rock Ctr to Grand Street, then walk 5 minutes west to Mulberry.

only 5 stops and 10 minutes.
