  1. Just tile it, after grouting it will be sealed.

  2. I don't think you'll have any problems in tiling directly onto the board, as long as you grout them in with a water resistant grout.

  3. 1) Seal the plasterboard with watered down pva.

    2) Then plaster. Seal that too, same way as above.

    3) Then tile.

If you tile direct to the board you'll rip the wall down if you ever try to remove the tiles i.e if one breaks.

Sealing the board with pva helps to stop distemper. Same with why you should seal the plaster.

pva seal = A good couple of squirts in half a gallon of water. You want it like skimmed milk.

  4. It cost about $40. Use polyacrilic. It is water proof. It is like having a plastic layer that is hard as a rock.

  5. You can tile straight onto the plasterboard without any problems - use a good quality adhesive like BAL Bluestar or Grip. All grouts are water resistant rather than waterproof so after grouting apply a grout sealant in the shower area. If your shower is a power shower then you would be well advised to tank the walls in that area with a suitable waterproofing system.

  6. you get water resistand plaster board for the walls and water resistant fibre board( cement sheet) for floor also walls if you want.

  7. It depends entirely if you ever want to remove the tiles, if you tile directly on to the new plasterboard and in time decide to remove them, you will almost certainly destroy the plasterboard as well and have to replace that also.

It's more tedious I know to have to plaster first, but the damage to the plaster if you were to remove the tiles would be minimised.

As far as the finished tiling job is concerned, without the thought of removing the tiles, the results would be exactly the same.
