What is the best surround sound system? and review site?

Guys, I am looking to get a great surround sound system for a 12 by 12 room. I hear bose is good but cnet says its just expensive and not the best. What is another review site so I can see the best home theater systems? What is the overall best surround sound system, also I know nothing about surround sound except the bare minimum.

When purchasing my surround sound I did a bit of research.  I personally would agree bose is too expensive.  They make great speakers though.  My personal favorite is Klipsch.  For your size of room the the new Quintet III system would be great paired with a klipsch sub.  Yes they are expensive, but with klipsch your paying for award winning quality.  Not to mention all the movie theaters around my are use Klipsch, im sure its the same around you as well. You will need a nice reciever and decent guage wire to complete it properly. Hope this helps, feel free to email me.

You must stay away from HTIB if you want great sound.  And stay away from stores like Best Buy and Circuit City.  Go to an audio specialty store in your area.  Audition loudspeakers from different companies such as Paradigm, PSB, NHT or RBH.  I'd suggest also to audition ID (internet direct) companies such as Ascend Acoustics and Axiom Audio.  You don't mention a budget.  In my opinion, a $2000 budget (for the speakers only) will give you awesome results.

You'll then need to select an AVR.  The Yamaha 663 has been touted as being the best bang for the buck.
