Question:

What is the best t-shirt stencil paint to use?

I tried making a shirt this weekend using Createx paints......it didn't work out to well. They were pretty watery and ended up bleeding a bit even though I used freezer paper, ironed to the shirt. Anyone know of a good paint I can use that's a little thicker and can roll on to give a more professional appearance?

  1. fabric paint?

  2. When I was in college we used a silk screen ink. The ink was very thick and you had to press it throught the screen to adhere onto the shirt or cloth.

    You could also try acrylics.

    Good luck!

  3. The createx is mostly used for airbrushing, which is why it's so thin.

You can buy a fabric medium that turns acrylic paints into fabric paint. You usually have to heat set them.

For silkscreen I use permaset. I imagine you could paint it on too, the texture is nice and buttery.
