I'm looking into getting a parrot or something. I want to teach it how to say a few words...but i don't want it to be agressive, as i will probably hold it. So what do you think would be the best breed of bird??

  1. african grey

  2. Most likely an African Grey but you most definitely cannot base your decision on getting a parrot on weither it talks or not. At some point in its life it will be aggressive and you will get bitten! Check out http://www.tailfeathersnetwork.com/ which is an awesome bird forum I am a part of.

  3. African gray is the best decision you cold make here's a video.Or i would prefer a cheaper bird like a cockatiel.Heres the video of einstein the gorgeous african gray:

IThere also a video of a talking cockatiel:

    (The cockatiel)

African greys are around the $500-$1000

    Cockatiels are $60-$70

  4. Cockatiels can learn to say words and phrases if taught to, and they're pretty tame and adorable.

Budgies are also experts at talking, and they're really tame too.  Budgies aren't aggressive (most of the time), and are really easy to handle. Cockatiels can be shy at first, but with a little patience they can turn into really good pets.

Usually male budgies are the ones most likely to talk. And I've heard that females can get a little aggressive,
