I am attaching a piece of metal underneath the roof of my house. I have screwed it in but tried sealing the rest with duct tape and metal tape ... I even tried using both at the same time but nonetheless it keeps peeling off. Any ideas???

  1. Maybe you can try using the kind of sticky gray tape, I don't think it peels that easily unless you don't touch it.  Well I hope this helped you & good luck!

  2. Tape is Not the answer here.   You need a good waterproof sealant like silicone.  There are diff. types so ask your hardware supplier.

  3. duct tape

  4. Make sure the surface is clean first , and try going with gorilla tape branded duct tape, its by the same makers of the glue and just as strong.

  5. You can try the Gorilla tape the other responder suggested, but I think the problem is the adhesive may be getting soft from the heat, and so the same thing may happen to it.

If you can use a caulking compound to seal the joint, that might be more resistant to failure.
