  1. Ching Bing's

  2. Real soy sauce should only be made from fermented soy beans, wheat, and salt so always read the ingredients. If it says anything about hydrolyzed vegetable proteins then just move on to the next!!

I would recommend choosing a "Tamari" over anything else. Its Japan's "original" soy sauce, and is really rich in flavor.

  3. well most soy sauce is so salty why do you not try teriyaki glaze sauce it is less salty and you can sub for most recipes

  4. San J Tamari is the best I have ever had - better than Kikkoman I must say (sorry kikkoman fans!). You can find it in the asian section of the supermarket, or sometimes in the natural food/specialty food section.

  5. I prefer Kikkoman's reduced sodium soy sauce.  It's sweeter than the regular kind.

  6. kikkoman - my uncle designed the bottle you know, whilst moonlighting when he worked as a designer for Philips.  He got done for it.

  7. Kikkoman.  It is one of the only true soy sauces -- brewed from soybeans that have been malted -- that you can buy at normal grocery stores.  And it is made in the USA from USA soybeans.  I was at the grand opening of the factory in my hometown in Wisconsin 35 years ago!

And if you can find it, Kikkoman Steak Sauce is the best!

  8. I've had too much time on my hand in college so a bunch of use did a soy sauce taste test.

    The results...

#1  Lee Kum Kee Premium soy sauce... seemed to have more flavor than kikkoman.

#2  Kikkoman - you can't go wrong with this standard brand.

The others were a distant third and beyond.

I've also tried Aloha Brand, Superior Soy, Koon Chun, LaChoy and Kimlan.

All these soy sauces were affordable.  You can buy soy sauces that are a lot more expensive, but I was a poor college student.

  9. LA CHOY!!!

  10. Kikkoman. Hands down!

  11. The "americanized" stuff sucks.  I shop at the asian markets, and usually get "dark" soy sauce, that is thicker and more flavorful, or go all-out and get fish sauce, and mix with an euqal-part soy, its much better than anything like kikoman.

I usually look for Dark, Premium, or Superior.  the mushroom flavored soys are also very good

try to steer away from anything that shows hydrolyzed soy protein, since they aren't very authentic, and try Tamari style, which is without wheat fillers, all soy.

  12. Kikkoman!

Make sure you check the ingredients out in Soy Sauce. If you see anything that says "hydrogenated", put it down, and slowly walk away.

  13. kikkoman
