It really depends on what types of Pokemon you have and how well you train.

You have to have a variaty of types like water, fire, grass. You know, the basic ones. So they all make a great combination.

As you go through your adventure, here are some Pokemon to catch along the way for your team. For your first Pokemon you have a choice out of Turtwig, Chimchar and Piplup.

This is a basic Pokemon Team to have:

Torterra

Staraptor

Luxray

Rapidash

Floatzel

Lucario

As long as you have a range of types, you have nothing to worry about. These Pokemon are just an example.

Maybe you should try posting your idea first and asking if it's a good team.

I think that a good team has some of every type. Here's my team.

Infernape-Fire, Fight

Milotic-Water

Dragonite-Flying, Dragon

Scizor-Steel, Bug

Leafon-Grass

Flygon-Ground, Dragon

I think that a good starter should be torterra, because it is hard to find a good grass type in the game. Also, shinx is a good starter electric. The rest should be temporary until you finish the elites.

Good starter team-

Golduck

Rapidash

Geodude/Onix

(A flying type)Starly, or murkrow.
