  1. You have already received good advice but I would also recommend taking a look at the selection that Elderly Instruments (see link below) has.

They have a Hamano (Kamaka copy) for $295 that looks promising, several models by Kala in your price range, several Lanikai models, and more.

  2. Alioophereicome,

I agree with SP on the Lanikai tenor being good for under $300.  http://www.musiciansfriend.com/navigatio...

My friend has the LU-21TE and it sounds good amped or accustically.  It has a nato wood top but it doesn't seem to effect the tone.  He changed the strings to Aquila nylgut and it makes a big difference.  A lot of people play Aquila strings.

I have an Ovation Applause Mahogany tenor (electric) and it looks and sounds nice.  I plug it into a VOX Da5.  A little more than $300...but sweet!

Check http://www.ukuleleclubs.com/ and see if there's a ukulele club in your area.  I'm sure they'll have some ideas of good tenors.  You'll probably even see, hear, and maybe strum a few.

Check http://ukulelehunt.com/ and see what others might have to say about tenor ukuleles.

    Good hunting,
