  1. volunteer. so many give money but not  many help :)

  2. Give both, but if one has to go, don't give money but keep volunteering.  Many many many people give money, but they could always use a few more helping hands.

  3. There is something you can do in minutes.  Every day I click onto the breastcancersite.com, where there are also four other charities.  You just click and the advertisers donate.

  4. yes

  5. Absolutely - volunteer. And when you offer to do something for them, DO it.

I used to be a Charity Trustee, and the thing that drove me crazy was when people would offer to help then change their mind at the last minute or just not turn up, leaving us stranded.

  6. 5 hours a week is loads.  If that is a regular commitment that you can make there are some amazing volunteer opportunities out there for you. Mentoring and befriending is a good way to donate your time as you get the chance to build a one-to-one relationship with an individual who needs some support, whether it be a child with challenging behaviour, someone with a disability or an elderly person who is unable to get out and about.

Or perhaps a youth group if you like children and young people.  I volunteer for Girlguiding UK and find it so rewarding seeing the group of 14/15 year old young women I work with grow and develop into responsible members of society.

Money always helps.  I have a standing order to a couple of charities that I believe in, including Amnesty International as I think their work is so important.  I'm not a great letter writer so I feel my money can help there better than my action.

  7. make your last will & testament to them, when you die they collect.this is known has  Human Sacrafice.

  8. Giving time is MUCH more important than giving money. When you give people money they usually don't know what to do with it or how to spend it. But when you educate them first and put in time to help them and then VERY VERY lastly give them money...it's a success.

I have heard this anecdote from various teachers and preachers and many many people. It makes sense to me. For example, if you give someone money to build a school but nobody knows how to teach or what to teach...it's completely useless.
