What is the best thing about being American?

free rights; religion, speech, clothing... pretty much everything we have here in America is a great privilege.

The freedom to make my own decisions on how I want to live my life.

The ability to criticize my government peacefully without fear of arrest or worse, and that same government's lack of fear in it being destabilized because I do so.

The right to go hunting and trapshooting without the government taking my guns.

The knowledge that my great-grandfather fled Russia in 1905 and Poland in 1908 because he believed America was the best idea man ever came up with.

The land and the history. I love cross-country trips and seeing the wide diversity of natural wonders. I also think we have a lot of cool cities with unique contributions that make them stand out. And a big love for animals, America does a lot for animals and owns more pets per household than just about any other country which I think is way cool.

This is truly a country of abundance. Even some of the poorest Americans have cell phones and cable TV. Americans are, for the most part, very generous and charitable.
