What is the best thing that has ever happened to you?

For me, it was when I picked up my guitar for the first time, that was four years ago, and now I can't go a day with out playing it.

How about you all share with me?

I never thought about it this way until you asked this question but the day I paid my house off. I was about 22 years old. I had worked so hard to buy a house & then did without everything I could to pay it off. I should say "we" cause my husband was also a part of this happening. We worked so hard & pinched every penny we could. We never even ate food unless it was for our health. If we had company over we would make ice tea but we never bought soda. We lived so poorly. We put every cent on the principle amount we owed so the intrest keep going down & the priciple keep getting bigger. Then several years later we bought another house & made a total profit from that house we paid off after living without a mortgage & now I have such great credit & have lived well for a long time thanks to the house we have now. So what happened was we had a house to live in with no mortgage & became financially better off because of it.

Falling in love for the first time, when I was in 6th grade.  He was my first "real love", passionate and painful, fighting for his every attention for almost 3 years.  I found out what a real kiss was, what it meant to hurt for someone so bad that your own life didn't matter and that everyone else in your life after that man wouldn't compare.  He was the best thing that ever happened to me and the worst, as well.  I was the happiest and saddest person of all but I will never forget him. That was 30 yrs. ago and the feelings are still fresh in my heart, but obviously with a different mindset...............but my first love will always be the best thing that ever happened to me.

Jesus delivered me from drugs and alcohol.  I was bound to both and couldn't quit on my own. Now, I've been sober for almost 5 years.

Only another alcoholic will understand this, but I will never/ever forget the feeling that came over me when I had my first drink. I remember the exact date and everything - it was eleven years ago. Sad, but true.

The guitar is so beautiful and expressive.

I guess the best thing that's ever happened to me was somewhere in the summer of 2000 I had an insight that if my life were to get any better, I'd have to be willing to make some changes and not just wait for life to get better without effort or action on my part.

MINE IS RATHER STRANGE. I WAS SWIMMING IN AN OLD STONE QUARRY AS A KID. I DOVE IN AND CAME UP UNDER AN OVERHANGING LEDGE. I WAS VERY CALM AND CHOOSE WHICH DIRECTION TO TRY SWIMMING. I CHOSE CORRECTLY AND SURFACED. MY LIFE HAS CHANGED EVER SINCE THEN AND I APPRECIATE EVERYTHING ND EVERYONE IN THIS WORLD. I FEEL LIKE I AM AT ONE WITH THE UNIVERSE. THIS WAS THE BEST THING IN THAT IT HAS MADE ME A MUCH BETTER PERSON. I HESITATE TO THINK WHAT KIND OF PERSON THAT I COULD HAVE BEEN.
