Question:

What is the best thing to eat before i run?

If i wake up early to go running, what is the best thing to eat right before? Keep in mind that i will be running 10-15 minutes after i eat, so i won't have that much time to digest it. And i will be running 3+ miles, is that matters.

  2. i would say not fruit. whenever i eat fruit it gives me terrible cramp. id say a peice of toast, maybe with some peanut butter on it.

  4. I would eat fruit or eggs. Something not too heavy. You should never exercise on an empty stomach.

  5. The Cross Country coach at my school is always telling the girls to eat an English muffin with peanut butter on it before their morning runs.  So I would go with what he says... since he's a running coach.  Eggs are also ok but defiantly NOT fruit... all the sugar isn't good for an early run and can cause bad cramps.

  6. I say fruit. . . an apple, an orange, a pear or a banana.  Something very similar or light.

  7. Super Pretzels are the best ever.  I always eat 2 the night before a race, and 2 the morning of.

  8. dont eat yet...it takes at least 4 hours before the food ingested reaches your a**s (after going digestive processes of course)...and it all depends on the blood flow to your stomach...when you exercise blood is concentrated on your muscles, so little goes to your stomach...you might experience discomfort if you ran after eating...a hot chocolate will do...
