I keep seeing them pop up in my house, just wondering what is something out there that I could buy, or suggestions to get rid of them?

  1. Raid or call an exterminator

  2. Usually when spiders are just popping up in your house it is Because there is probably a spider nest in your house. The best way to get rid of a spider's nest is to kill the mother, which you can which you can tell by looking at the size of the to largest spiders at the nest. The bigger of the two is the female. Kill the female ASAP before the it eats the male (which is just a female spiders doing of nature, but if you ask me, it is just plain CREEPY!) otherwise, you will need to call Pest Control and will probably need to stay out of the house for a few days because of the gases that are left there. but if you also kill the feamale BEFORE it eats the male, it is good thing because then it can't lay EGGS, then you kill the male before it finds another mate. To kill centipedes, you will just need the best ALL BUG SPRAY you can find in supermarkets, usaully Wal-mart or ACE Hardware store's.

  3. Add more ventilation to moisture problem areas such as basement or closed up bathroom.

Bug spray baseboards, window sills and ceiling corners.

    Pesticide on lawn.

Cheap vegetable oil sprayed around outside base of home each Spring, Fall & after heavy rain.

I also bug spray back & wall of heavy furniture.

  4. We have a small boat which for some reason is like a magnet to passing spiders.

The old-fashioned method of leaving horse-chestnuts (conkers) around the boat appears to work as a deterrent.

Unfortunately, spiders not only crawl into the house through every open window, door and crack, but you bring them in yourself on your clothes and hair whenever you go out in the summertime - I go round the house on a spider-hunt (armed with a tiny lidded plastic pot) every evening, and liberate them half way down our street.  The very large ones are taken into the Town to find a new home.
