Fried Chicken , Fried Okra and corn. Every year she would ask what do you want for your birthday dinner and that's what I'd say!!!

my mom isn't much of a cook, but my dad makes chocolate pecan torte. oh it's to die for. he also makes barbecue pork with home fries. so delicious.

now you've got me hungry! haha.

Roasted pork..She stuffed it with fresh garlic and seasoned it well, put in an oven bag and cooked it low n slow. Sooo good.

When we were sick, Mom always made Baked Custard- the ultimate comfort food!

Gran's Baked Custard

Ingredients:

4 eggs

2/3 cup sugar

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

3 teaspoons vanilla extract

2-2/3 cups milk

Directions:

In a mixing bowl, combine eggs, sugar, spices and vanilla. Blend in milk. Pour into a 1-1/2-qt. baking dish. Place baking dish in a cake pan in oven; add 1 in. water to pan.

    Bake at 325° for 1 hour or until a knife inserted near middle comes out clean. Yield: 6 servings.
