We were thinking about going in May or June. I'm a scuba diver. When is the best visibility and the warmest water?

  1. Never cruised Hawaii, but did the Tahitian Islands. We went in April & the weather was pretty good. May would be the best month. The water is always warm & the visibility there is incredible. In Bora Bora  & Moorea, you can see down forever. It's like looking in clear bathtub water.

I would like to add the rainy season is from November to the end of March

  2. Hawaii and Tahiti have opposite weather.

The summer in Tahiti is during Nov-Feb. This is the hottest months but also the most humid. The weather in tahiti is always warm but may and June are fresher and more enjoyable. the water is always warm and it is way more clear than the islands of hawaii.

The summer in Hawaii is during Jun-Aug and the water is not too freezing. but for diving, i advice you to go to the outer islands like big island or Maui. they have really nice diving spots. and the water is clearer.

  3. Can't speak for Tahiti, but we just cruised Hawaii in May and had a wonderful time.  The weather was good, the water was warm (not sure if it would be warm enough for SCUBA diving, but hey, I've been SCUBA diving in Lake Superior in December so anything is warm by comparison), and it didn't appear to be peak-season for tourists.  From what I hear, there isn't really a bad time for SCUBA diving in Hawaii, but I'm sure there's got to be a peak season for that.  We went snorkeling in May and the visibility was great, so I'm thinking May might be one of the good times to go.

  4. may and june sounds great. go for it.  also look at cruiseclues.com for more info on weather conditions, ect.
