  1. The best time of the year is going to be the very end of June through the end of August. Even the end of June though might be a bit chillier.

As far as cruise line a lot would depend on your age group which I feel might be best.  Because there is RCCL, Celebrity, Holland & Princess are going to be the better of choices, but again I can't say specifically without knowing a bit more.

Book definately in advance for best rates and cabin location!  Because it is seasonal people do book these types of cruises further out than some others.

I would strongly suggest working with a travel professional as they can help you through ever step of the way!  Make sure also to book shore excursions in advance or you might not get on the ones you want!

Alaska is beautiful though, I went up there as a kid.  I have some family up in the Homer & Palmer area.

  2. The best time for a cruise is October because they are cheap! The best cruise line would have to be Carnival. Very fun! Kid friendly with tons of things for Adults!

  3. I went in July. I was told that that was the beat month. The weather was beautiful. We wore shorts the whole trip. I went on Royal Caribbean Radiance of the Seas. It was a beautiful ship. Great treatment from staff. The travel chanel just did a documentry on this ship in Alaska. Maybe you can research and try to get a copy of the show somehow. Good Luck and have fun. It was the most memorable trip I've ever taken.

    P.S.

You have to do the helicopter excursion. They take you and land right on an ice glacier. Truley amazing

  4. Try July and August. The bigger ships have alot more things to do on it like RCCL, NCL, Carnival, and Holland America. But the smaller ships can go into smaller places but I would go with the big ships.

  5. Many answers to your question. May & Sept. offer the lowest fares & fewer small children. The best way to see the scenery of Alaska is a cruisetour. They have them either with a 7 day cruise or with Holland only a 3 day cruise. With this you see more of the land plus visit some of the beautiful national parks there where you can see more of the animals. For just a 7 day cruise Norwegian & Princess offer some great deals and do not require you to get all dressed up to eat. Princess offers some great cruisetours where they put you up in 5 star lodges. Of course alot depends upon when & how low you can go for. Safety wise they are very safe. Fun depends on you as well as the shore excursions. If you decide to go on the whale watching afew offer a guaranteed so that if you do not see awhale you get most of your money back. Some will say a balcony instead of an inside cabin. However they cost more and everyone else is having fun on deck.

If you visit their sites you can sign up for emails so they can send you all the special offers. As it is a short season for cruising you will want to book early to get your room choice.

ENJOY. Also wait to book your excursions until you are in port due to possible bad weather or you may change your mind. They sell excursions on the pier for the same price & they are aware when your ship departs.
