What is the best time of the year to prune plum trees?

I have 5 of them different types what is a good month

The cooler weather like October or November.  This time is best because the bugs will not get into the branches and cause damage in the fall months as most insects do not endure the cold nights.

The best time for planting is in the Spring.

However there are some bizarre  weather patterns happening around the world these days - so it is really a guessing game.

winter is the best time of year to prune most trees and plants, as all of the sugars are flowing now and it is in the prime of growth.

You can prune them now if you wish but keep this in mind in the coming winter, as it is easier to prune somthing with no leaves or fruit on it.
