  1. Disney World will definitely be less crowded during off-peak tourism seasons, while school is in session.  Mid-January to early February should be good, as well as Mid-May until early June, between spring break and summer vacation.  I've gone during both of those times and ride wait times were averaging 20 minutes tops.

All year round the general rule of thumb is that wait times may be up to twice as long on weekends as during weekdays.

  2. in winter. but the only thing it is FREEZING. lol. but thats when its been the least crowded for me, and maybe fall too but i dont go much in the fall

  3. Whenever you ask this question, you will get many different answers.  My best answer is that the best time to go to Disney is when you can!  There will always be crowds, it is the number one vacation destination in the world, but with a good plan the crowds are not a problem.

Some of the times mentioned by others are slower, but there really isn't a slow season anymore.  I like late October-early November because it is not as hot and humid.  Early December is my favorite time of year due to the decorations.  January is nice, but you have the marathon and MLK weekend.  February can be good, but many schools have winter break in Feb.  March and April are Spring Break months.  Early May can be lovely.  Southern schools let out right before Memorial Day, so late May into June can be busy.  Late June through August is the summer crowds.

With the dollar weak right now, many of the people visiting WDW are not from the US, so you can't rely on US school schedules as a basis for crowds.

In the end a good plan is more important than anything else.  I have traveled during the slower seasons and during the busiest holiday seasons and my experience did not change.  I rode all the rides with little to no waits because I had a good plan.

  4. My bf and I have gone in early to mid January. It's not very crowded an the weather is usually upper 70's low 80's.My only complaint is that it was too cold to go in the pool at night.

  5. Hi,

I've been there in 2007 and 2008 when it's winter holiday in France (and not in the US) : end of February / beginning of March.

There is absolutely no queue in any park (at least never more than 20 minutes in Disney parks) and the weather is great (between 70 and 85). Each time we could even spend a day in a water park.

  6. Anytime schools are in session

    No public holidays

    Weekdays

    No special events

    When hotel rates are lowest.

    Stay away during these periods:

    Summer

    Xmas

    Thanksgiving

    Bike Week

    Race Weeks

    Spring Break

    Easter

  7. the least crowded times are:

    nov

dec-except dec 21-31 due to christmas and new years

jan-except jan 1-5ish due to new years and the fact that kids don't go back to school until monday the 5th 2009

    feb

    march

not april cuz of spring break

    may

    begining of june.

and in the winter the average temp is in the 70's so it won't be evne as cold as 40's. even though that would feel warm to you.

ps. it would be warm for me as well i live in buffalo ny.

  8. We're annual passholders, and our favorite month is October.  Even when we lived out of state we liked Oct. best.  Sept. is still too hot with many days in the 90's.  The weather is more temperate in Oct, although we still can hit 90, and our kids have to dress light for Halloween.  Our very best months are Oct. and March, but March is often rainy.  Once you hit November you can have more unpredictable weather and will need to pack everything from shorts to jeans and jackets.  My in-laws from Minnesota came down one Thanksgiving and didn't believe me.  My FIL had to buy a jacket (not windbreaker) at Disney because he was too cold.  They could swim during the days because the pools at Disney are heated, but come night the humidity made it a much more biting cold (in the 40's) than they'd expected.  We've been at Disney in January and worn shorts and wished we had our swimsuits, and we've frozen our rears off in November.  November - February are very unpredictable which means heavier packing.  Anytime school is out is high season and the parks are crowded, so come down when kids aren't on vacation.

  9. November and December or March and April are nice.

  10. For three years in a row, I went the first week of december. Its great weather, just a bit chilly. But I wore shorts and hoodies. or jeans and a tshirt. Even tshirts and shorts on warmer days. Not crowded at all. But the parks are all made up for christmas and are GORGEOUS!

  11. I suggest going in September and January.  Go, but get cheap tickets before you go!  I suggest that you get cheap tickets from Orlando Fun Tickets http://www.OrlandoFunTickets.com

    Have fun!
