What is the best time to get a border collie puppy?

Is there a best time of year for getting puppies? when are they usually born and when are they usually ready?

The best time to get a border collie puppy is whenever your local animal shelter gets some in.  Cow dogs like that are a very difficult breed so there are one of the most common types of dogs you'll find in shelters.  If you just let them know you are looking for one I'm sure they'll let you know when some come in.

Hope you have a lot of property, cause border collies are high energy little creatures. They need a lot of room, and a really good hobby :P They are obsissive, thats why they make such good farm dogs. My girls hobby is paying frisbee, lol.

But please go to your local animal shelter and save a border collie mix. The puppies at the pound are great dogs, please save one. A good age to get is 9 weeks or older. Also I hope you know how active border collies are and if you dont know...research!

Puppies are born year round. The best time to get a puppy is when you have some freetime set aside to take care of it. Have some vacation time saved up? It helps to be home to get potty training started as well as other manners established.

There are plenty of breed specific rescue organizations.  Please, if you or anyone uses a breeder, they must put you through a rigorous adoption process for you to know that they are not in it for just the money.  If it's all about the money, they do not care who "buys" their stock.  That's how they feel about the puppies, that they are just a commodity.  Please rescue one from the pound or find a breed specific rescue org.

They are born pretty much every time of.  Year, if you are getting one from a breeder 8 weeks is usually the time when they are ready to go home.
