  1. get test now!!!! then in 3 to 4 months but no later that 6,. then get tested every 6 months...good luck

  2. There is no wrong time to get tested! Go right now to your physician and get screened for all STDs including HIV. Sometimes you can contract the virus but it won't show up on a screen for six months after so your doctor may schedule you for a follow up screening. Go, please! If you have something wrong with you you want to get treatment right away!

  3. If you've done something that is causing you to worry that you may have come into contact with HIV, then you should seek advice as soon as possible.  If it is a very recent incident your medical practitioner should arrange a follow up test for an appropriate date.

  4. The first test often done to detect HIV is a test to detect antibodies.  The antibodies to HIV usually show up on tests within 3 months of the time you were infected (if in fact you were infected), but in rare cases, it can take up to 6 months for the antibodies to show up.

I suggest that you get tested 3 months after your last possible exposure, then retested 3 months after that.  (Other STDs could be diagnosed earlier than that, so keep that appt on Tuesday.)
