  1. first thing in the morning or just before sun set

  3. the best time to fish for bass, is generally around first or last light, but WILL bite at any time of the day or night.

as far as what bait to use--- at any given time, bass will bite on just about anything.

I live on lake Okeechobee , in south Florida. Right now, the best bait is plastic worms & lizzards or live shiners.

my son & i, went out last friday & saturday, using shiners for bait & both days, we limited out on bass over 18" ( as of july 1 of this year, on Lake Okeechobee, any bass under 18", has to be releasaed ) in the 2 days, we put over 60 bass to the boat.

If i can locate more shiners, we will be going out tomorrow also

  4. morning bite usually begins just before full sunrise. However you can get fish any time of day. Just go deeper and slower with your presentation (lure)

Around noon I tend to use baits that hang around a certain area for a longer period of time. Such baits are plastica worms or tube baits. by early eavning unless you are very experienced the fish will be suspended over deep water or in cover adjacent to deep water.

the evening bite will begin about an hour or so before sunset.  also the best times of year are early spring

    (Pre Spawn)

    Mid Spring (Spawn)

    Late Spring (Post Spawn)

Mid to late Autumn (Fall Feed)

  5. Early in the morning or in the evening.

Usually cast about a foot away from a weed bed near shore and reel in slowly.

NOW  this is a guaranteed bait to catch bass.  Bass like plastic bait better than live.  Now get a 2/0 red Gamakatsu hook.  For the bait get some gulp 5 inch minnows.  Take the minnow and make its head go to the top of the hook and then attach its body.  When cast out and reel in it will appear like the jig is moving.  Play with it a little and I gurantee a bass if you set it up right!!

  6. if your a beginner than you should just start simple with some nightcrawlers. bass LOVE fallen trees, underwater structure, and can be found at any depth of water. small fish like sunny, bluegil, and other annoying fish will most likely steal the worm because they are fast. so put a weight on it, no bobber, and let the nightcrawler sit on the bottom. they will be in seaweed so get some thick line. try to drop the bait next to a patch of seaweed because bass stay in these areas to "ambush" bait fish. if you want to catch some BIG FISH than you can use the sunny yo your advantage. if you dont know sunny are small fish they average about 6 inches long. get a small hook and cut a part of a nightcrawler and catch one. they are topfeeders so you will see them bite your worm. when you catch one put him on a bigger hook through the lips and cast it out, the fish has to be alive for this to work because the bass will see the fish struggling. you need to be patient when using this method becuase bass will suround it but may take a while to bite it. i did this today and i caught a 7 pound largemouth. he was right on shore and i saw him the whole time. cast it out and reel it in slowly and when its near you just let it swim around and occasionally bring it out of the water. it may take a while for the hook to set because the bass will strike it from all angles. but it will try to run with it and its good fun. but for the ultimate success. if you are near a stream throw some bacon in it and catch some crawfish. BASS LOVE CRAWFISH!! let them sit on the bottom and you will catch one easy. minnows will work to, you can buy some at a local bait shop, but if they dont have any you can buy some dog food, (kibble) and throw it in the water, this will attract a lot of minnows which you can catch with a net, or just let the minnows eat because the minnows eating will attract the attention of the bass. if you dont have dog food you can even use corn. this will also attract catfish if there are any. and you can fish ANY TIME OF DAY. i caught my 7 pounder at 2 p:m so it doesnt really matter. buy i guess early morning and sundown would be best. good luck and good fishing. hope my long paragraph helps!!

  7. I usually go bass fishing at night and the bass usually get going around 10:00 (if u need a time)  all i do is throw out a black jitterbug and let it jitter across the water as u reel it in    BASS LOVE IT!!!
