What is the best time to plant trees?

I live in central CA (zone 9), and would like to plant a few trees. When is the best time to plant to ensure the trees do not die?

  1. In their dormant time, Autumn & Winter.


  2. Spring or fall when the temperature isn't as hot. Remember to water every day for the first two weeks.

  3. the best time to plant trees is usually best in late fall or early spring,when it is still dormant.If the tree is a seedling you could plant spring or summer.

  4. In CA you can pretty much plant a tree any time of the year, as long as you keep it watered well during the summer.

    But arbor day (April 24) is usually the norm.

  5. Autumn and winter.  They don't look like much is happening in these seasons but they develop roots before the summer heat.
