We have a 10-15 yr old lilac bush that we would like to move to a different spot in the yard. We have heard different opinions on when to move the bush, spring or fall

  1. Lilacs bloom in the spring so you would want to transplant it in the Fall.  Make sure when the weather gets cool at night that you put lots of mulch around the base of the plant  to protect it  from frost.

  2. Well i am no expert but i would say if you want it to bloom in the spring transplant it in the fall but if you don't mind it not blooming one year you could do it in the fall.

    Good Luck!
