I'm new to skating.. well I've taken some classes long ago but I haven't skated for like a year. I want to re-start and tomorrow I'm going to a rink with my friend to skate. I want to teach myself a new trick. I just want to know what is the best spin, flip, or axel to learn first? I need step-by-step instructions give me a site, video, anything.

  1. You need to learn a 3-turn before a jump, usually.  I'd say the simplest "trick" to learn casually would be a 2-foot spin.  It's pretty easy to imitate just by watching it done once or twice.

Well, actually a good 2-foot spin can be tricky but I bet you can get it to go around a couple of times, and it's fun.

  2. AXEL? Are you kidding me?

Flip before axel. Generally speaking, this is the order you should learn jumps:

    waltz jump

    salchow

    toe loop

    loop

    flip

    lutz

    axel

    Alright spins:

    Basic one foot

    Scratch spin

    sit spin

    camel spin

etc... There are too many to list!

I would go to youtube. You can find videos of people doing these. Also: http://www.soyouwanna.com/site/syws/skat...

Looks reliable enough. Mainly figure it yourself.
