I have a Nikon D60 and I'd like to buy a tripod. Someone gave me a tripod, but I think it's the one that's used for tools. I always have problems with my hands trembling when I take pictures and I have vibration reduction on the D60, but I think I'd like a tripod for those times when I want to be in the shot or when a tripod would be better. I am an amateur. I have had two Nikon point and shoot cameras, but now I want to really learn. Also, is there anything else I should by? I did get another lens. It's the Af-S DX Nikkor 55-2000mm f/4-5.6G ED and I'd like to know what this lens is used for. I believe it's a zoom lens.

  1. What's your price range?

I'm an amateur as well, and have no plan on being a professional, but I wouldn't want a cheap tripod for my equipment. After all do you really want to risk damaging your gear?

The one that I'm saving up for is manfrotto 190xprob

I'm still researching what ball head to get with it

    Also get a shutter release.

do a search on youtube. yahoo answer keeps giving error problems everytime i try to post a link to it.
