  1. diesel

  2. for me... best means not necessarily practicle.. but most fun to drive and most shocking.. and without a doubt that is the electric tesla motors car

    http://www.teslamotors.com/

    (0-60 MPH in 3.9 seconds)

  3. The Prius, which gets 47 mpg (and 2009 version will be even better) despite being a mid-sized sedan.

However, some pretty nice electric cars are going to be in production soon, which are better than hybrids in some aspects (like environmental impact, fuel efficiency, etc.).

  4. bio-diesel

  5. Hybrid cars are the most fuel efficient right now. Diesel is a dollar a gallon more and you get less miles per gallon with it. The only thing I haven't  heard is how long will the battery packs last and what is the cost to replace them.

  6. That ALL depends on what you are looking for!

Saving Some Green w/o loosing those horses:

    2008

    1.) Chevy Tahoe Hybrid 20/20mpg (city/highway)

    2.) Nissan Altima 35/33mpg

I don't care about the horses, I just wanna find a cheap used one!

1.) Toyota Prius Hybrid (been out since FOREVER!)

    2.) Mercury Mariner Hybrid

    3.) Honda Civic Hybrid

    4.) Honda Accord Hybrid

    5.) Toyota Camry Hybrid

Good luck! Try going to www.autotrader.com and searching for cars by engine type "hybrid."

  7. the best alternative fueled transportation on the market...is a donkey..i mean think about it...no gas!!!

    only grass and water...

dude u cant go wrong with a donkey...

  8. Are there any?

  9. W126 OM 617 Mercedes,running diesel,biodiesel,and wvo.

  10. Alternative? Biodiesel. Hybrids use gasoline.

But in the future it'll be a race between ethanol and pure electric. Hard to tell which will come out on top in 100 years.

  11. Besides a hybrid, I might throw in a CNG ( compressed natural gas) car.  Bio-diesel is popular, but you've probably started to hear the backlash against the corn used to produce it being used as fuel instead of food, so this may only be a fad.  CNG is still apparently readily available, very kind to the environment, and actually a lot of vehicles already use it, but mostly buses and larger vehicles.  Still, there are CNG stations around and it could be a good alternative until fuel cells are perfected and in widespread use.  Hope this gives you another alternative!

  12. The Toyota Prius hybrid. Diesel is too expensive ($4.25 a gallon) and still can't come close to the Prius in the US. The Honda Civic hybrid is close behind the Prius.
