  1. if its salt then u use sabiki but homemade like mine, those reflecting lines on sabiki make ur own with ur line by using a plyer lightly grip it on to ur line-same effects-reflective too,use ur hair then tie it like homemade flies so u can dip it into some thing to attract with some worms/partly/combo.freshwater use worm too bcos much easier to attain or maintain even when ur fishing easier to bait.u can also use sabiki they work too bout the same,no bait produced by us will ever match nature even close, lures, flies all should be use in combo cos the fish only strike such artificial when there is alot of competition in the area, meaning lots of stocks so they fight for food.the other way is that the food is dimishing so bigones fight for bigbaits.my tactic is to fish all the small or particular size of these baitfish out from that area in the minimum time possible within few days then I will have a go for the trophy fish-once caught a 35lbs barramundi with just worms.

  2. Small fish bait works wonders,I have used it all of my life and swear by it.Good luck!!!

  3. It depends on what kind of water, fresh or salt? Salt would be the sabiki rig, we use these for catching the perfect size baitfish, around docks and bridges. And in Fresh, that would have to be the age old breadball on a hook. and you can catch a variety of panfish and the occasional baby bass. Good luck!

  4. any kind of worms.

or you can use a fly (the ones used for fly fishing.)

  5. There are many ways and baits to catch panfish. Small pink garden worms and grubs are a staple in the panfish diet. They also eat some caterpillers and various insects. You can duplicate these with lures and flies. However, if you are just learning how to fish I would stick with the worms. Place a bobber or float 2 to 3 feet over your #10 hook (very small) and cast out around some lily pads, weeds or tree branches in the water. Fish like to hang around this type of cover. Good luck.

  6. Crickets work well to catch a variety of fish. Worms (small earth worms - not night crawlers) also work well. Meal worms.

  7. if you are talking about shiners and brim, my dad used to take a piece of sandwich bread, get it "just" wet and mash into a firm yet solid ball to have the right consistency, he then took little pieces off this and made tiny balls about a quarter inch or so in diameter and molded it onto the fish hook ...  worked great ...

he mainly wanted the shiners b/c he used them for catching largemouth bass (8-18 lbs) ...

must've worked ...  he had a whole wall of large stuffed fish he had caught ...

    all fresh water ...

  8. worms
