  1. dreft. Love the smell.

  2. I use soap for delicate clothes like 'Ivory Snow' or Super Store brand.  I also rinse the clothes after the wash is completed to ensure ALL the soap has been removed. Also, don't use dryer sheets with baby clothes to avoid strong scents and possible allergies.  Always wash baby clothes separately.

  3. there is some detergent out there specifically for babies...its called Dreft. its non allergenic and the smell is not strong at all. and you can use other detergents, but yeah they say not to because of the strong smell and some could irritate the baby's skin.

  4. I think any kind of detergent that is perfume free is fine.

Some people think you need to buy a baby specific brand like Dreft, but I don't find it to be necessary at all.

I use All, Free and Clear for all of our clothes.

  5. Dreft is a good one, but I agree with the rest, anything free and clear should be just as good, and yes a money saver with detergents and water! Congrats...awwww!

  6. They make Dreft for babies. But I have never used it. I use Tide. Never have had a problem with it.

  7. Anything 'Free & Clear' will work.  I have very sensitive skin and that's what I have to use as an adult.  Also, use 'Free & Clear' dryer sheets...the scented ones effect sensitive skin too.

  8. I like Dreft. It is inexpensive, hypoallergenic and it makes the clothes smell good and keeps them very soft.

  9. ALL Free & Clear is the best because it is free of perfumes and dyes.

Dreft smells good and is good for baby, but it is expensive.  the off brand is Purex for baby.  Half the cost.

  10. Don't use dreft. It's like over $10 a container for a small one. It's outrageous and basically just there for first time parents to drag them in and make them think they have to use a special detergent. I use purex. Sometimes I use the free and clear and sometimes I don't. I did for the first 4 months or so just use the free and clear. But anyways my friend had a problem with dreft her son got use to it and she would wash his clothes in it. Well he got used to it and started breaking out on his face because she washed her clothing in different stuff and he wasn't used to it so then she started having to wash all their clothing in dreft and it was super expensive for her and she wished she never would have used dreft in the first place.

  11. Any dye and perfume free detergent. Babies have sensitive skin, and the detergents that they market for baby clothes have even more perfume in them than the Gain you're using now.

That said, you could just continue using Gain, but just do a double rinse.

No, Dreft and Ivory Snow are not hypoallergenic. Also, for stuff that you need to keep absorbent, like burp cloths, bibs and baby towels, make sure that you're not using fabric softener on them.

  12. I started out using Dreft, but found it to be so wasteful to have to wash all of my son's things by themselves.  I switched to Arm & Hammer Free & Clear and started washing everyone's clothes together.  What a time (and water) saver!  My son has had eczema since he was 2 months old due to animal allergies, and the detergent switch did not aggravate it.

  13. dreft

  14. i dunno where you live, i live in australia and use softly wool wash liquid, have done so with all three of my kids, smells divine, butnot strong

  15. Dreft would be the best for young babies. Or really anything that isn't perfumed.
