What is the best type of engineering? ?

I can choose between civil, computer, industrial and petroleum.

Many of my friends are going into Computer and I think that will be a very competitive market.  Myself, I am going into Software Engineering.  I heard they are in need of jobs and it is quite easy(as long as you know what your doing).  Petroleum Eng. is kind of limited, and idk about that field.  Petroleum is going downhill(less use)

As long as you know a lot about computers(inside and out) i would do Computer or Electrical Eng. with a minor in Computer Science.  Just the background will help a lot.

Also I think there is a government website telling you what those job markets are like.  Not sure the URL

if that is your choice, i think petroleum is the best for nowadays but please choose mechanical engineering because you can go into many fields.belive me.

They all lead to fulfilling careers. I guess from a money standpoint, computer and petroleum would be the best choices. But, you have to think about what you would like to do most for the rest of your life. Although they differ slightly in money, its not a big enough difference to base a decision off of. I am currently studying to become a civil engineer and I absolutely love it. I am very interested in my field and cannot wait to get a job and do it for a living.
