  1. The best type of inexpensive rodent would be a hamster!!

The average hamster is about 15$ - 20$ at petsmart.

A good cage is around 30$ - 50$. A Carefresh 60 Liter is 24$, food and treats are around 20$ if you include some wood for them to bite on and a vitamin l**k. A Hamster ball is around 5$ - 10$ which u HAVE TO HAVE they LOVE IT! A wheel 7$ - 15$ depending on the size or hamster and the quality of the wheel. And obviously you have to have a food bowl and water bottle which are together around 10$. in total depends on the quality, the cost will be from 60$ - 90$ and don't for get that you have to keep purchasing bedding and food and change your cage every 1 - 1 1/2 weeks!

  2. Hamsters!!! cute little hamsters.

If you want cute ones, you can get dwarf hamsters but they bite, and you cant hold them :(

For supplies, get bedding(any kind id good), water, food, a hamster ball, a cute little igloo, an aquarium with holes where you can attach tubes, and practically make it a play house, and lots and lots of toys!!!

By the way hamsters dont cost huge, they only cose 10 or 15 dollars. And they sell those perfect sized cages that include everything in it including bedding food water bottle, and toy. And all together including the hamster is only about 50 dollars

    trust me its worth it

  3. Rats!!! Ratties make the BEST small pets! They are very social and love to be around people. They are also much less likely to bite.

You will need a good wire cage, bedding, food/ water dishes, food and TOYS!

  4. um i think a hamster too you need to buy a cage, wheel, toys, food, chewing sticks, bedding, hamster, and optionally treats this came out to 70.00$ for me

  5. There really isn't any cheap pet except fish. I thought hermit crabs would be cheap but they cost me $65 total which is only a little less than a hamster. And that was initial cost, not including food, treats and bedding later on.

If you're really broke don't get pets cause if you can't keep them it can be really hard to get rid of them...

Hamsters cost a cage, 20 gallon tank is best, or the metal cages but thats not as good for their feet... either cost about $30 i'd say. Water bottle, food dish, wheel, small box or nest house, bedding, pellet food, and treats are the other necessities. i'd agree with the other people and say about $70-$80 is about right for the initial cost of a pet.

  6. I suggest a healthy one from a pet store such as PetSmart, or Petco. Something that looks good enough to you. As in, decent looking, active in its unique way, and those type of things. At those stores, the hamsters range from around the same prices, so I wouldn't say there was an inexpensive one. I'm not too sure what would be the best, but one of the worst, if you want to handel and such, are robo hamsters. They are small, SUPER fast, and don't really like being handled. If you do want a robo hamster though, i suggest get the BIGGEST one. They are more slower and such.
