What is the best type of the turtle to have as a pet?

I want something that you can hold and play with. It can be a water turtle as long as I can hold it. I would also like something that doesn't get big.

Most turtles will get pretty big, and you shouldnt really handle them, it stresses them out.

I have an ornate box turtle that is not very big when full grown, can be out of its tank for awhile and mine likes to go outside with me in the summer and follow me around, its cute. i say a false map turtle cus thats wat i have and its so cute. and u could play w/ it. and they r really fast. when they want to be and they r a water turtle. <3
