A lot depends on you. Many turtles get big enough to require huge tanks. Can you afford them? Most turtles don't survive "babyhood". How will that affect you? Can you learn enough about a turtle's needs to give it a fighting chance at survival? What do you want from a turtle?

turtles are nasty animals...it's actually illegal in Tennessee to sell turtles (thats where i live)

Well! Land turtles make great pets.

If you do not have plenty of space the Chinese box tortiese doesn't grow very big... So doesn't require a lot of space...

My sister now owns that one it use to be one of my childrens....

Then I got a Russian Turtle(turtiese) and was totally in love with him, "Babe".... However, one July 4th someone left the gazebo door open and he got lost :(

Now I have newly found Greek Torteise and I am not going to loose sight of him!!

Turtles are not dirty...  As the saying going with any animal it

depands on the owner.

You have to be febrevlous(spl)You'll see they are easy to maintain and can be a lot of fun. Believe me they can have personality and also give a calming to oneself.

Learn up on and do see  if your up for it, they live a long, long time so be certain you have someone to pass he/she down to later on...
