What is the best type of wine?

what is regarded as the most prestigious wine, what is the most expensive, and what is your personal favorite type

Title for most prestigious wine is probably the title for the WWE Heavyweight champion.  Its a fluid kind of thing.  That said, I think most would agree that Domaine de la Romanée-Conti produces some spectacular wines, its flagship - Romanée-Conti - has to be on everyone's short list.  I think it sells for some ungodly price, $20,000+ for the 2005 DRC Romanée-Conti.  My favorite, Thunderbird, just kidding.  My personal favorite type has evolved quite a bit.  I used to like Burgundian style Pinot Noirs, but of late, I find myself more a Pomerol (Merlot) drinker.  If you can't tell, I like European Wines.  By the way, Ch. Petrus is pretty pricey too, to put it mildly.
