Yes, Davis is the best pre-vet and vet program in California.  Vet school is VERY competitive, and you must have top grades in the life sciences in your UG work to even be considered.  UCLA, Stanford, UC San Diego, USC and others are all good for pre-med type degrees and Stanford and UCLA have the best medical schools.
