Honestly, the best use for the internet is for business.  It's what it started as after all - a way for a few businesses to communicate efficiently with other businesses and their employees.  I actually remember before they had nice clean addresses, like  w w w.website.c o m they used to have long strings of numbers kept in a large book.  You'd reference the book, type in the numbers and get information for all text websites.  My father used to do this.

But that's history.  The web has changed a lot since then.  Personally, I use it most to communicate with others and to gain information.  I think this is how most people use it - and also play games and such online.
