What is the best used car for under £2000?

i am 19 and planing to buy my first car with a budget of £2,000 , a used car. dunno what is the best car for that amount of money. remeber it's my first car

As it's your first car, I assume you'll need something pretty cheap on insurance - you've mentioned £2,000, so I'll assume that's excluding money to insure, tax, maintain & fuel the car.

Firstly, you can discount Fords - they're not particularly reliable, they certainly aren't cheaper on parts than anything else, and they don't stand up well to hard use.

Many people become obsessed with insurance costs - my nephew lives in a high risk area & had a BMW 318i when he was 18, it was no dearer to insure than his previous Suzuki.

As for fuel costs, it depends whether you need to use the car every day to commute - if you do, then you'll need something economical, like this;

If economy's unimportant, then just look at Autotrader to see what you fancy, generally German & Japanese cars are reliable, avoid anything made by Fiat, and there are useful reviews here;

peugeot 306 1.9 diesel bullet proof engine and box good on fuel very low running costs

£2000.00. Any car you want as long as its Japanese. Toyota or Honda's your best bet. They will run and run and run and have few problems. Reasonably priced as well.

get yerself a transit van  a week in that and youll be an a1 driver  tou can pick up a nice mark6  about an x reg for that and you can earn loads in one

A fiesta would do fine for that kind of money, being ford aswell if anything should go wrong with it it should be fairly cheap to fix.

A Nissan Micra 1.0 would be your best bet failing that I recommend a ford fiesta.

by the way, I am selling a N reg fiesta 1.4 would suit a new driver!
