What is the best video camera/camcorder?

Question

I'm going on holiday and I'm set on videoing every moment to capture memories!

I can't think of a good video camera/camcorder.

My things that I want are:

-long batt life (i don't mind charging every day if i have to)

-huge memory (that's if the camera stores it into it's own hard drive, if it uses a memory stick, dw)

but the most important thing is that it's small, compact and portable so I can whip it out v. quickly at any given moment.
