  1. I was looking around for the form my husband and  I used. Can't find the number. Basically the steps are:

    1. Advertise the open position and job requirements.

    2. Take proof of your advertisement to your state labor department for certification. ( We advertised at job services, in the paper and with local college)

    3. Fill out the form and pay the fee.

    4. Find yourself an employee (We wanted a nanny)

    It is a time consuming cumbersome process and you don't get to keep your nanny forever. Max is 6 years. If I remember correctly as we had a lawyer do it for us, her work authorization visa was not subject to any caps. We are hoping she marries an American citizen before our 6 years is up so we can keep her. We started our process when we became pregnant but didn't get a nanny until we were just shy of our daughter's first birthday.  She has been with us a a year in August.

  2. There's no such visa in the United States.  That's unskilled labor and the USA is not taking any unskilled labor.  Try Canada.

  3. If you're talking about the U.S., then the visa classification for domestic workers is EB-3. At the moment, it's fully subscribed, but you can submit an I-140 and have the beneficiary get in line with the rest of the planet.

    EB-3  visas are for:

    Aliens with at least two years of experience as skilled workers;

    Professionals with a baccalaureate degree; and

    Other workers with less than two years experience, such as an unskilled worker who can perform labor for which qualified workers are not available in the United States.
