  1. Hyperlite Motive

  2. I would advise to head over to http://www.wakeside.com/page/w/CTGY/wake...  and check out the various manufacturers by clicking on their icon.  Under each you will see the boards offered and as you scroll over each you can see the meter below that will show you the boards that are beginner to intermediate and whether they offer distance or pop off the wake and how loose or tight they ride.  Starting out you want a board that is more towards the tight side unless you have already mastered getting up and have fairly good balance.  Most of the beginner boards also have some board and binding combination specials so you will want to look at those and compare the prices so you know what you are likely to shell out for one.  You might want to buy the boards and binding seperate.  The reason is you really want a good pair of bindings that you can transition to a better board as you progress.

I would also advise picking up 'The Book' DVD Wakeboard Instructional series.  This is a 5 DVD set that covers everything you ever wanted to know about boarding.  Covers everything from equipment etc, basic foundations (disc 2, very good) that will help you establish proper technique and help you avoid developing any bad habits.  very important.  The remaining 3 DVD's contain all the tricks from inverts, spins and advanced tricks.  A set that ever wakeboarder should not be without.

Retail stores like Academy offer some beginner setups at fairly good prices.  The CWB Sol and the like is a good beginner board.  You can really progress to the intermediate level on a board like this.  The shape of that board is the 2002 - 2004 Absolute model which was the advanced board of its time.  I started out on a 2004 CWB Pure and still break it out and have fun on it.  With the ability to remove the center fin, or change the size of this fin can alter it from a tight ride to a loose ride.  A board like that will cover your needs for a couple of seasons easily.  Hope that helps.  Get out there and tear it up.

  3. I started out with the Double Up Delta Series, it is the best Bord I have EVER ridden.

  4. O'Brien Oasis (Maybe a 137 or 141). They are not so expensive as many other boards, its user friendly, good stability, good rocket, and great quality. Its a very balanced board and can be used by beginners, intermediates, and Pros
