  1. One of the questions you need to ask is their policy on you dropping by occasionally to check on your kids. Yes, it's disruptive, but a good daycare understands that sometimes the unannounced arrival of a parent should be a good thing. They should have nothing to hide.

  2. local newspaper,

or by world from another mom..

or HEY if yu are doing bad, sign up for CCMS they will pay for your child to go to daycare!!

  3. You can get help from the state or federal government.  They will pay for daycare so that you can work.  Usually, they choose the daycare for you.

  4. I would get references  from people, don't be shy. Ask around because no matter how nice people seem they can be not that nice of people, I know a girl who runs a daycare where I live and she is as nice as can be all the moms love her, and as soon as they leave she sits there kids in front of a t.v. and thats where they stay where they eat chips and candy all day while she talks on the phone and is on the computer, until 15 min. before their parents get there then she takes them outside or gets out crayons so they have so much fun right then that thats what they talk about with their parents. Don't be afraid to do snooping and maybe ask if you can just sit in a day and see what goes on, or show up in the middle of the day one day on a lunch break to just say hi. You can never be too careful with your kids. People are the best way to get a good answer because people talk and if something is suspicious they will be talking about it. I would look for someone that is already a mother. Good luck!
