K, so this is no news that tea is supposed to be good for you. Ive been told that it relieves stress, helps with depression (supposedly..but not the clinical kind..just that blah feeling) and helps with weight loss. Sounds great! I also know that I really need to disconnect myself from coffee. I work all the time and def. need a boost in the morning and throughout the day, but cant be spending all this money on Starbucks and energy drinks etc. Problem is, I hate the taste..Tastes, to me, like warm dirty water. Smells great...but doesnt taste like it smells. Lol

Ive been told to add sugar or milk. I have honey and vanilla soymilk....but Im hoping to get ideas of ways to prepare it from people like me, those that really dont enjoy the taste of tea, but have found stuff to add to it so its more enjoyable.

Can anyone help? I know there's lots of different "types" of tea. Im mainly thinking of things to add to green tea. Unless anyone can recommend another that might work better for me

  1. Well if you are a big Starbucks fan you might want to slowly ween yourself off of the coffee by trying the teas that they have there. If you are a fan of iced drinks you can also try the iced teas from there that are really delicious. I recommend the Passion tea which is very fruity and light, you can also get a variety of black and green teas there. To help make them a little sweeter a lot of honey really helps make them tasty or you can use some of the artificial sweeteners like Splenda or Equal. Also, if you are skeptical about the taste at first Starbucks offers ice teas with lemonade they are very refreshing and tasty. You can get a green tea lemonade from there any time and it is actually quite cheaper than some of those pricey coffee drinks. Once you've learned to like the taste of tea you can actually start buying it and brewing it or icing it at home at your convenience. Hope this helps.

  2. I dont like tea really either, but i find tea with lots of honey is soooooooo good. Try putting some spices, like cinnamon, or some mint flavoring.

  3. just add a lemon wedge and honey to any flavor to make it tasty. i hate milk and sugar in tea. orange wedge is great to

chamomeal is a good flavor and helps you fall asleep ;)

you can also make cold tea now that its warm out & get the same benefits as warm tea

boil 6 cups water. put in pitcher. add 6 tea bags (any flavor) and let sit in water for 5 minutes then add orange slices and lemon slices

  4. You can always have ice tea just without all the sugar, and since you're having it cold you might tast more of the tea flavor than hot tea. Other than that you can add lots of different things to your hot tea: honey, milk, cinnamon, mint.

  5. Fruity tea- I found fruity teas taste amazing when you put a bag in just ice and water. It makes a refreshing cool fruity drink.

If you do not like like the taste of green tea try putting the green tea bag in the ice water for several minutes then add a few drops of lemon. If it is too sour, try adding some melted honey. (Put a spoonful of honey in an ounce of hot water to soften it.)

Green tea is extremely beneficial. But all herbal tea is good for you so try fruitier flavors.

    Good luck! Hope this helped!

  6. try London Fogs/Tea Mistos. that way you get your calcium and tea :)

  7. I love to drink tea! Just put some water in a kettle on the stove. Make some tea, and put in honey or sugar. Or let it sit in the sun all day to make sun tea. Then drink it cold. Also try lemon or orange. You can put raspberries in your ice cube tray with your ice and put them in your iced tea. Or try a cinnamon stick in hot tea.

  8. Don't add milk to gree tea...the tea isn't full bodied enough to hold up to the milk.

You're probably better off with Rooibos.

Rooibos is becoming more popular in Western countries particularly among health-conscious consumers, due to its high level of antioxidants such as aspalathin and nothofagin, its lack of caffeine, and its low tannin levels compared to fully oxidized black tea or unoxidized green tea leaves"Green" rooibos has a higher antioxidant capacity than fully oxidised rooibos.

In South Africa Rooibos has been used to treat allergies such as hay fever, asthma and eczema very effectively .

It is also used to treat irritated skin. Rooibos is brewed and placed directly on infected areas. Rooibos contains anti - oxidants which can help slow the aging process and boost the immune system.

Rooibos is a great thirst quencher and is an excellent beverage for active people, including children. Most kids will drink Rooibos without added sugar or sweeteners.

This tea contains almost no oxalic acid, making it a good beverage for people prone to kidney stones. Rooibos contains the following minerals: copper, iron and potassium, calcium, fluoride, zinc, manganese, alpha- hydroxy ( for healthy skin ) and magnesium (for the nervous system) are also components of this tea. In South Africa pregnant women and nursing mothers drink Rooibos because it contains no caffeine.

http://www.shanghaiemporium.com/rooibost... they have many more flavours then listed...

  9. Try Raspberry Royale Tea by Bigalow, with just a small amount of honey.  It tastes just as good as it smells ( and that is great!)  Lipton makes green tea with orange and jasmine flavoring which is also good with a bit of honey.
