  1. This usually happens due to an accumulation of fungus (mould) in the machine or because the door is left closed all the time.

If it's a front loading automatic, pull out the dispenser drawer and remove all the gunk, including mould, that has accumulated there. If you can get a garden hose with a trigger jet in there, that's the easiest way.

Run a HOT wash cycle, at least 60 degrees centigrade, 90 degrees even better. You can do this with clothes in to avoid wasting energy or do it without clothes but with a small pack of washing soda.

When the cycle has finished, leave the door of the machine ajar for 20 minutes for the drum to dry out.

You should always leave the door open for 20-30 minutes whenever the machine is used as this will help prevent mould growth in the future. one hot cycle per week will also help.

I hope this has cured the problem.

  2. Hot water and bleach works wonders.  So does 1 load a month with dishwasher detergent and hot water.  That helps clean out your filters in the machine also......

Leave the door open when you can to allow it to air out.  Front loaders are notorious for being smelly.  I check the seal in the front for debris and remove that frequently as that can be a source of odor if allowed to build up.

  3. Pour one cup of White Vinegar in the washer then fill with hot water and set on full cycle do not add clothes, this will help clean and remove odors and detergent buildup in your washer, it will also help clean all the parts of your washer and help it last longer also disinfects, vinegar is safe to use Good Luck !

  4. pour in  a box of baking soda and run it through wash maybe let it sit in it for a day

  5. maybe there's lint in there that makes it smell so take the lint out and i dunno if it will smell or not XD

  6. Sometimes it could be caused because one of your pipes, ( inlet or outlet) maybe blocked, in which case you will have to unscrew them from the back of the machine (after turning the water off from the back first) and give them a rinse out by putting them in the sink and just running cold water through them, maybe a little bit of disinfectant, before putting them back on this is done quite easy as i have done it, anyone can take them off and put them back on as long as they are tightened up properly when you put them back on, or you will find they will leak, and don't forget to turn the water back on before you put the machine back, as it can be forgotten quite easily. Also put your machine on a quick wash without anything in it.
