Question:

What is the best way (online) to learn Japanese and/or Korean? Preferably free or cheap.?

I want to learn Korean and/or Japanese, but want to do it as easily as possible so I don't want to just search around looking for translated words and try to learn like that. I would like a program to learn it if possible.

I saw Rosetta Stone programs but those are crazy how expensive they are.

Are there any very good, very helpful and very informative sites or programs that I can download online (preferably for free or very cheap) that will help me learn one or both? I won't be trying to learn both at the same time mind you, since I doubt either language is that easy that I could learn both at the same time, but if you give both I would then be able to try to decide which one I want to do.

Thank you if you help.

  1. Download a program (free) called eMule.

Learn how to set it up (rather steep learning curve! Quite geeky!)

But it's a fairly safe (if set up properly) P2P program.

Download a Rosetta Stone program for free.

  2. www.livemocha.com is kind of a cheap imitation of Rosetta Stone (Japanese). I have Rosetta Stone Japanese and it's not bad, but it can be misleading. I hope it works out. You just sign up and its free. All you do is enroll in a course. For Japanese you need to first learn Hiragana and Katakana. That is very very important. You can find that online all over the place. I hope that gives you a place to start.
