What is the best way preserve my sports cards to avoid discoloration?

  1. Keep them out of the sun light and make sure the book or case is Acid - Free ;)))

There are different ways to store your sports cards.  For your individual cards, I would recommend penny sleeves and then putting them in a top loader or card saver holder.  For more expensive cards, there are screwdown holders as well.  Those are for your more valuable cards.  Then, I recommend putting the cards in holders into a box such as a shoebox sold at baseball card store.  A two row shoebox can fit many cards in it.

    Then there can be binder storage in pages, and finally another way is 5,000 count boxes that store 5,000 cards.

    I only mentioned methods that are specifically for baseball cards because it is worth storing them correctly in my opinion.  If you take chances on how you store them, the condition of the cards can suffer and that affects their value.

  3. keeping them in a dark, airtight container preserves both their color and shape. preventing exposure to light and humidity prevents them from bending and fading.

    i keep mine in an airtight metal tin and an airtight wooden box and they are still as clear and pretty as the day i got them.
