  1. if it,s just faded and not through the gel coat yet a product called penetrol works best, found at most marine dealers. and it,s real easy too!!! provided you follow the instructions, they'll be on the back of the can. if you decide to to take a buffer to it ,it wont be long before you get down to the glass!

  2. lyderslim is correct. There other ways but what he say, I have done for decades. You can take an old boat that looks old and you buff it up with the rubbing compound, it look like new. I use the Fine Grit.

  3. I'm going to assume that this fiberglass topper has a gel coat instead of automotive paint.

You should just need to get a buffer (or work your butt off by doing it by hand) and some 3M Super Duty Rubbing Compound. Once that is all buffed, you will be very happy with how it looks, but I'd then clean it with acetone to get the compound off, then wax it to keep the shine and prevent it from fading again.

If it is regular auto paint, then do NOT use this compound. You can still buff it, but use a different compound. Use one for cars.

  4. wet sanding 1200 grit then 3m buffing compound works great for me
