What is the best way/strategy to study SAT vocab words? i have trouble remembering them...?

i'm 13 years old and i want to improve my vocabulary but whenever i read the words and try memorizing them from an SAT vocab book i remember them at the time but then like the next day i remember it slightly but not that good...btw i don't have short term memory so thats not the problem... thks♥

This is what I did.  Write them on index cards (cut the index cards into smaller pieces), put them in your pocket, and whenever you get a chance, look at them (even during school, at lunch, whenever).  Write the word on the front, and on the back write the word in a sentence (something you can remember) and then write the definition.
