We are going to launch a new web site this month, but still don't know what will be the best way to advertize it. We have a great idea and we think it is going to be a big success, but we are looking for the best way to make it well known...

    For starters good luck with your new website. Try doing some of these things to bring in traffic.

    1. PPC (Pay Per Click) with google, yahoo, etc. This is a good way however watch your account real close or you can end up with a very large bill from either one of these people as you are going to be paying $$ per click.

    2. Post your link to your website on everything that you do. Email signatures, forums, Craig's List ads, etc.

    3. Post some press releases talking about the launch of your website (you can do these free and can find them by searching "free press release" always include your link)

    4. Submit your website to search engines on a regular basis. such as Google, Yahoo, MSN, DMOZ, etc.

    5. Exchange links with other websites.

    6. Word of mouth. Do not forget that your website visitors are going to be a large part of marketing for you... Impress them and they will tell many people about your website.

    7. You can also submit articles (geared towards your site).

  6. The best way to make any website known is through networking and word of mouth. Nowadays, websites are an island! Noone can find you without being high up in search results or through other connections.

    Consider:

    - opening a blog. Write in it often and get it in blog directories. Don't spam other blogs about it but become an avid reader of other blogs and comment on them often. That will get you good networking with others

    - consider getting pages on social networking sites. This is free access to thousands, millions of viewers who can learn about your site.

    - Know your target audience: this is the ultimate importance, and will lead you in the right places on the net to network, basically. Not every social media site or blog is right to network on. Know where your audience is.

  7. I would suggest PPC advertising with a service such as google adwords, you get targeted traffic and you only have to pay when people click on your ads. Also, some good free ways to advertise are article marketing, and participating in forums who's content is related to whatever it is that your site is about.

    1)Viral Pictures

    Viral is closely connected with something that may spread easily.So i suggest you to create a viral picture which is closely connected with your products and spread it.

    Everyone likes funny pictures and they don't mind sharing it with others.It's viral.So, If you're selling a health product, then you may create a funny picture about it and put your website's name on it.

    Next, just forward it to as many contacts as possible using e-mails. Whether it's a 12 years old kid or 21 years old adult.They would just love and share it with others. Can you see how easy it is?

    2)Viral Videos

    Videos are the most famous entertainment on the Internet.People would just love it dues to it's effectivenes in spreading the message. So i suggest you to create viral videos about your product and again put your link in it.

    If you got 3 minutes video, then make sure your website's link is visible throughout the whole 3 minutes.If you don't have the necessary tools to create a video, then you can simply collect 5-10 viral pictures and then convert it into video using Windows Movie Maker.

    Then just upload it to You Tube or Google Videos. Now using bluetooth everyone is exchanging videos from their mobiles or computers. If your video is viral enough to attract others, it will easily spread to others.

    3)Yahoo Answers

    I probably won't be answering your question if i don't know the answer. And i won't suggest you any websites link if i think that it's not going to help you.

    So simply answer any questions that you're knowledgeable(your niche market) at and put a link to your websites as extra source for others.

    If your answer is good and solved the questions, people would also expect for more tips and suggestion from you.If you suggested any website links, there are high chances for anyone to visit it.

    Forum Marketing works just like Yahoo Answers. They would be a lot of tips and questions exchanged in any forums.

    So start getting active and contribute to any forum members and they will appreciate your expertise and start visiting your websites for more up-to-date tips.

  10. The most effective way to advertise on the Internet is

    to first set up a website and publish its domain name

    on major search directories such as Google.com,

    Yahoo.com [at http://www.google.com/addurl/?...... and

    MSN.com since 85% of Internet shoppers rely on these

    search directories to provide them with goods and

    services. In a sense, these search directories are a

    very large Internet Yellow Pages.

    Nevertheless, should your website or opening webpage

    fail to contain "generic" keywords, then anyone using

    such "generic" queries will not be able to discover

    your website. Your domain name [URL] of your website,

    in a sense, will be invisible, undiscoverable.

    You may want to consider some simple algorithms which,

    when observed and committed in designing of a website

    with placement of various critical metatags that can

    surely achieve a high search engine presence and

    increase Internet traffic to your website. These

    metatag strategies work well with published webpages

    Design: Should you create an extensive Flash-based

    Placement of Metatags:

    A ranking or search order does take place with Google

    and Yahoo and it begins with the "Title" metag which

    should consist of no more than 65 characters separated

    by commas. The "Title" should describe in generic

    terms, the goods and services, followed by a location

    from which the resource is located, i.e., city, state.

    The placement of a domain name which is not generic

    within the "Title" is not appropriate, unless your

    domain name is a major recognizable brand name.

    The second metatag is the "Description" which is

    usually 25-30 words to form a complete sentence which

    best describes one's goods and services.

    And the very last category - "Keywords" are also

    somewhat limited to 15-16 words which can be plural

    and compound in nature. Again, avoid multiple entries

    which could be mistaken as "spamdexed entries" which

    is defined as the loading, and submission of

    repetitive words into a particular metatag category.

    "Spamdexing" when discovered on a webpage and reported

    to Google's spamreport.com can result in the

    elimination of your website from their search

    directory.

    Here's an example of a very highly-placed website on

    Google.com: Begin with the very "generic" search query

    "sandwiches downtown los angeles," taking note to not

    abbreviate Los Angeles to "LA" and of course, leave

    out the parentheses ("). It will bring up some 2.4

    million+ search results. Check out where "Nazos.net"

    is ranked. It's ranked No. 1!

    Again, Nazos.net's high web presence was achieved by

    proper web design and placement of relevant metatags

    according to Google's publication guidelines.
