What is the best way to apply taupe eyeshadow for someone with dk brown hair and eyes?

You could wear it as part of a subtle eye make up look when you wear bright lipstick. Use light taupe all over the eyelid, with a darker shade blended  in the crease, an optional thin line of black eyeliner on the upper lid only, and black mascara.

With red lipstick it will look sophisticated, but if all your makeup is neutral coloured I think it will look boring, because I also have dark brown hair and eyes and I need some bright colour to not blend into the woodwork. We can also wear bright eyeshadow colours if the lips aren't overdone.

I would wear it as a part of a subtle look for your eyes. To ensure you don't go over-the-top, keep the eyes neutral and emphasise your lips with a bright lipstick or lip gloss. I would use light taupe over all your lid, and blend in a darker shade into the outer corner of your eye. use a tiny amount of the darker shade under your eye as a eyeliner using an eyeliner brush. Only go halfway across the underneath of your eye. It gives a stunning look, I use it all the time.

To complete the look wear a bright crimson lipstick. This will make you look very sophisticated because of the dark eyes and hair you are so lucky to have.
