What is the best way to attach a ski rope onto the cleat of a boat? If possible, can an image be provided?

  1. The cleats are not for attaching the ski bridle.  There should be two ring eyes on the transom.  they look like u-bolts sometimes.  The ski bridle is a rope /float assembly that the ski rope attaches to.  It allows the skier to move from side-to-side with out dragging the rope across the motor.   These ring eyes are sometimes used to tie the boat to the trailer.  No bolts?   Ask a dealer... they can be installed.


  2. no no no no no don't attach it to the cleat.  if nothing else, just use the transom eyes.

  3. If you use the cleats for this, you will probably pull the cleat off the boat. Use the towing/lift rings that are on the transom, on either side of the engine or I/O unit. They are made to withstand the forces involved. Cleats are only used for mooring.
